Save the Children is seeking qualified applicants for the following positions:
1. Job Title: Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) Manager
Department: Operations
Grade: 2B
Contract Length: Six months, with the possibility of extension
Location: Laga-Hidha and Sawena Woredas, East Bale Zone, Oromia Region
Role Purpose:
The FSL Manager will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Anticipatory Actions for Drought Hazard Response project, funded by the Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund (EHF). The role focuses on strengthening food security, livelihoods, health and nutrition (HN), and WASH in the target areas. Responsibilities include providing multi-purpose cash transfers, livestock feed, and veterinary services to vulnerable households. The manager will also supervise staff, logistics, and financial operations to ensure effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee FSL, HN, and WASH components.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including zonal and woreda offices, NGOs, and consortium partners.
- Ensure timely, high-quality project implementation and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Master’s/BA degree in Food Security, Nutrition, Humanitarian/Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and report writing skills.

2. Job Title: Public Health and Nutrition Officer
Team/Program: Scaling Up Anticipatory Actions for Drought Hazard Management
Grade: 4A
Contract Length: Six months
Location: Sawena and Legahida Woredas, East Bale Zone, Oromia Region
Role Purpose:
The officer will support the preparedness and resilience of the nutrition sector, focusing on mitigating the impact of droughts, conflicts, and other crises. Key activities include community mobilization, nutritional screening, and promoting infant and young child feeding practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support woreda health offices in implementing nutrition activities.
- Coordinate with primary health care units (PHCU) and ensure the quality of maternal and child health services.
- Prepare implementation and procurement plans.
Qualifications:
- BSc in Nursing with a Public Health background.
- Minimum 3 years of experience, including 2 years in emergency health and nutrition programs.

The FSL Officer is responsible for day-to-day implementation of the FSL activities, ensuring proper beneficiary selection and community mobilization. The officer will closely work with local government and project assistants to meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor FSL activities in target areas.
- Ensure proper communication with beneficiaries and local stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the FSL Manager.
Qualifications:
- BA/BSc in Agriculture, Livelihoods, Rural Development, or related fields.
- 3 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in livelihoods and food security projects.

4. Job Title: WASH Officer
Team/Program: Emergency WASH Interventions
Grade: 4A
Contract Length: Six months
Location: Bale Field Office, Sawena Woreda, East Bale Zone, Oromia Region
Role Purpose:
The WASH Officer will provide technical support in water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions. This includes conducting assessments, designing project components, and overseeing WASH-related activities in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct WASH assessments in collaboration with local authorities.
- Supervise the implementation of water supply and sanitation facilities.
- Facilitate trainings and capacity-building for local stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- BSc in Water Engineering, Hydraulic, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in WASH-related roles, preferably in NGOs.

Role Purpose:
The Child Protection and Migration Advisor will provide technical leadership for Save the Children’s child protection and migration programs. This includes ensuring high-quality implementation of projects targeting migrant and displaced children and developing multi-year strategies for the protection sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead child protection and migration-related program design and implementation.
- Provide expert advice on child protection in migration and displacement contexts.
- Support program teams in delivering quality results and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science or related fields (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in child protection and migration programming in humanitarian and development contexts.
