Its work in Ethiopia began in 1971 with emergency relief efforts, followed by the establishment of its country office in 1975. During the devastating 1984/85 famine, the organization played a significant role in delivering life-saving humanitarian assistance to millions of people.

Today, World Vision Ethiopia operates across 53 Area Programs, implementing a wide range of initiatives in education, health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), food security, economic development, climate resilience, emergency response, faith and development, and other community-based programs that improve the lives of vulnerable children and families.

World Vision Ethiopia is currently inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the following vacancies.

Position 1: Multi-Sectoral Integrated Program Manager

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Master's Degree in one of the following or a closely related field:

  • Education
  • Public Health
  • Nutrition
  • WASH
  • Humanitarian Action
  • International Development
  • Agriculture
  • Disaster Risk Management
  • Project Management

Professional certifications in humanitarian programming, Sphere Standards, INEE Minimum Standards, Cash Programming, Protection, or Project Management will be an added advantage.

Experience

Candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in humanitarian and development programming.
  • At least 5 years in senior leadership or program management positions.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale multi-sector emergency response projects.
  • Strong experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Previous work with major international donors such as FCDO, ECHO, USAID/BHA, UNICEF, ECW, Sida, UN agencies, and similar partners.
  • Experience working in conflict-affected, fragile, or displacement settings.
  • Solid understanding of localization and partnership approaches.
  • Strong knowledge of humanitarian principles, Sphere Standards, CHS, Protection Principles, INEE Standards, and Cluster Coordination Systems.
  • Excellent skills in project management, budgeting, reporting, coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding, gender equality, disability inclusion, PSEA, and conflict-sensitive programming.

  • Fluent English
  • Amharic

Work Environment

  • Based in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to emergency-affected areas.
  • Willingness to work in challenging and resource-constrained environments.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during emergency operations and reporting periods.

Position 2: TSFP Coordinator

Location: Gambella

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition, or a related discipline.

  • Social Sciences
  • Other related fields

Experience

  • 4–6 years of relevant work experience.

Languages

  • English and Amharic are required.
  • Knowledge of the local language is an advantage.

Position 4: MEAL Specialist

Location: Gambella

Experience

Applicants should have 4–10 years of experience in humanitarian or emergency programs, including:

  • Emergency food assistance
  • Grants and project management
  • Market assessments
  • Cash transfer programming
  • Project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting
  • Team leadership
  • NGO operations
  • Humanitarian standards

Candidates should also be able to work effectively under pressure and in high-security-risk environments.

Position 5: Store Keeper

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in:

  • Accounting
  • Business
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Disaster Management
  • Development Studies

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics or warehouse management within refugee, IDP, humanitarian, or corporate settings.

Applicants should also have experience using logistics management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Position 6: MEAL Officer

Qualifications

MA/MSc or BA/BSc Degree in:

Experience

Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in emergency response or development programs, including at least 2 years in a similar role.

Experience in project planning, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, reporting, and adult learning is highly desirable.

Position 7: Community Help Desk Facilitator

Location: Gambella

Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in:

Position 8: Biometrician

Location: Gambella

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in:

Experience

Applicants should have at least 3 years of experience in emergency response programs, particularly within refugee or IDP operations.

Candidates should also possess:

  • Networking and telecommunications experience
  • Knowledge of CORE Humanitarian Standards
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Kobo Collect, Outlook, beneficiary management systems, and distribution information systems.
