The Store Clerk will be responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, and issuance of hospital supplies, equipment, and inventory. This role ensures accurate record-keeping, proper organization of the storeroom, and timely distribution of items to various departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory Management Duties:
Receive incoming goods, verify quantities against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
Properly store items in designated locations, ensuring optimal storage conditions (e.g., temperature control for medications).
Organize and maintain the storeroom in a clean, tidy, and accessible manner.
Issue supplies and equipment to hospital departments based on authorized requisitions.
Conduct regular inventory counts (cycle counts and periodic inventories) to maintain accurate stock levels.
Identify and report slow-moving or expired inventory to the Procurement Officer.
Documentation Duties:
Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory transactions.
Update inventory management systems (manual or computerized) promptly.
Collaboration Duties:
Assist the Procurement Officer with inventory audits and reconciliation.
Liaise with various departments to understand their supply needs and ensure timely fulfillment.
Safety and Security Duties:
Ensure the security of the storeroom and its contents.
Adhere to safety procedures for handling and storing materials.
Other Duties as Required:
Perform other duties assigned by senior management.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience as a Store Clerk or in a similar inventory management role, preferably in a hospital or large retail/warehouse setting.
Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is an advantage.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
:
Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
Proficiency in using inventory tracking systems (manual or computerized).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
