The Safety Engineer at Gift Real Estate PLC plays a pivotal role in ensuring workplace safety and compliance within the engineering sector. This full-time position, targeting senior-level professionals with 5-8 years of experience, is based in an office environment in Addis Ababa. The role involves developing and implementing safety protocols, enhancing safety culture, and collaborating with various stakeholders to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough safety assessments and audits to identify potential hazards.
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards.
Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety measures into engineering designs.
Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices and emergency procedures.
Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to identify improvement areas.
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations.
Facilitate safety meetings and promote a culture of safety awareness across the organization.
Continuously review and update safety documentation and manuals.
Act as a liaison between management and regulatory agencies regarding safety issues.
Required Skills:
BSc/Diploma in Civil Engineering and Related Fields with Total Experience 5/8 years and Specific Experience 3/4 Years on construction projects works as safety officer in full capacity and responsibility
Demonstrate creativity in developing innovative safety solutions.
Exhibit a strong development-oriented mindset to enhance safety programs.
Analyze safety data effectively to inform decision-making.
Communicate safety concepts clearly to a diverse audience.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to implement safety initiatives.
Manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Utilize problem-solving skills to address safety challenges proactively.
Adapt safety practices based on emerging trends and technologies.
Foster a positive safety culture by engaging employees at all levels.

Experience with safety management systems and software.
