Role description
The Data and Analytics Manager will lead BGI’s data management and analytics efforts. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of the organization's master data management strategy, as well as managing the analytics function. The Data and Analytics Manager ensures that high-quality, reliable data is available to drive business decisions, and that analytical insights support operational efficiency, strategic planning, and business growth. Its responsibility includes identifying, cleansing, and enriching data; governing its use; and synchronizing it across disparate systems.
Develop and implement master data management strategy to integrate and manage all critical data across business functions (e.g., customer, product, financial, and vendor data).
Develop Master Data quality measures and ensure quality, define data standards, establish data procedures, and oversee data governance framework.
Ensure data consistency across BGI Ethiopia, resolving data-related issues, and liaising with stakeholders to align data practices with business objectives.
Contribute to the design and optimization of data workflows and involve in training teams on proper data management practices.
Ensure creation, maintenance, and migration of consistent, accurate, and complete master data.
Define and drive BGI’s analytics strategy to support data-driven decision-making
Manage the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of business intelligence and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI)
Support initiatives in advanced analytics such as customer segmentation, market analysis, and demand forecasting.
Partner and collaborate with the group Process Owners to ensure data standards and align across processes.
Provide Leadership to the Master Data Management team to ensure Data quality and consistency across BGI Ethiopia.
MSc/BSc Degree in IT/Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Data Science/Statistics/Business, or related fields.
8- and 10 years relevant experience with 3 years at Managerial/supervisory role in data management, analytics, business intelligence, or a similar role for MSc and BSc respectively.
Hands-on experience of Data Management, analytics, and business intelligence
Proficiency in data modeling, database management, and understanding data integration techniques.
Proficiency with data management and business intelligence tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
Experience with master data management tools (e.g., SAP MDM, Informatica, Oracle MDM or any)
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
