The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to protecting and supporting refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and vulnerable communities affected by conflict and displacement. Operating in the Horn of Africa since 1997 and in Ethiopia since 2009, DRC implements a wide range of humanitarian and development programs, including protection, shelter, WASH, livelihoods, migration support, gender-based violence (GBV) response, and child protection.
DRC is currently inviting qualified and committed professionals to apply for the following positions across different project locations in Ethiopia.
Position 1: Protection Team Leader (Debark)
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's or advanced degree in International Law, Development Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with conflict-affected or displaced populations
- At least 2 years of management or technical protection experience with an international NGO, UN agency, or government institution
- Previous experience as a Protection Team Leader is an advantage
- Experience working in the project area is preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Amharic is an advantage
Position 2: Protection Team Leader (Humera)
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced degree in a relevant social science or legal field
- Minimum of 3 years of protection-related experience, including 2 years in leadership or technical roles
- Previous humanitarian protection experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
- Excellent English language skills; local language proficiency is an advantage
Position 3: Protection Officer – GBV Case Management Supervisor (Humera)
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Law, or related fields
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in GBV and protection case management
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Experience in emergency humanitarian settings is preferred
- Good command of English and local languages
Position 4: Protection Officer – GBV Case Management & Protection Case Management Supervisor (Sanja)
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Law, or related fields
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in GBV and protection case management
- Previous supervisory experience is required
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Good proficiency in English and Amharic
Position 5: Protection Assistant – Monitoring (Humera)
Qualifications & Experience
- University Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Law, Social Work, International Development, or related fields
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in humanitarian protection or refugee/IDP programs
- Experience using Kobo, ActivityInfo, or similar data collection tools
- Good data analysis and reporting skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent English, Amharic, and local language proficiency
Position 6: Protection Assistant – Monitoring (Debark)
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in a relevant field
- Minimum of 1 year of humanitarian or protection experience
- Experience with protection monitoring and digital data collection tools
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Fluency in English, Amharic, and local languages
Position 7: Protection Assistant – Monitoring (Dabat)
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Law, Social Work, or related disciplines
- At least 1 year of relevant humanitarian experience
- Good reporting and data collection skills
- Experience supporting displaced or conflict-affected communities
- Excellent English and local language skills
Position 8: Protection Assistant – Community-Based Protection (Humera & Maikadra)
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Law, Social Work, International Development, or related fields
- At least 1 year of experience in humanitarian or community-based protection activities
- Experience in community mobilization and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of humanitarian protection standards is an advantage
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
Position 9: Protection Assistant – Protection Case Management (PCM) (Sanja)
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Law, or related fields
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in humanitarian protection or social services
- Experience implementing community-based protection activities
- Strong planning, analytical, and communication skills
- Good English and Amharic language skills
Position 10: Protection Assistant – GBV Caseworker (Sanja)
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Law, or related fields
- Minimum of 1 year of protection or GBV-related experience
- Experience in case management and referral services is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Good command of English and Amharic
Position 11: Protection Officer – Monitoring (Debark/Dabat)
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Law, Social Work, International Development, or related fields
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in humanitarian protection monitoring
- Experience using Kobo and other digital data collection platforms
- Strong report writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Excellent English and local language proficiency
Position 12: Protection Assistant – Psychosocial Support (PSS)
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or related fields
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychosocial support or protection programs
- Experience working with vulnerable groups and survivors of violence is an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent English and Amharic language skills
