Role description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Proposal Development Officer will support the preparation of high-quality donor proposals, concept notes, and supporting documents. The role focuses on drafting, formatting, research, and coordination support to ensure timely and compliant submission of proposals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Draft sections of proposals including background, justification, objectives, and activities.
Conduct research on donors, funding trends, and sector priorities.
Support development of budgets in coordination with finance teams.
Assist in preparing logframes and implementation plans.
Edit and format proposal documents to professional standards.
Maintain proposal templates, databases, and documentation systems.
Track submission deadlines and ensure timely follow-up.
Support communication with internal teams and external partners.
Assist in compiling annexes and supporting documents for submissions.
Participate in brainstorming sessions for new project ideas.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, Communications, or related fields.
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in proposal writing or project support.
Experience with NGOs, consultancy firms, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.
Strong English writing and documentation skills.
Good understanding of project cycle management is preferred.
