About Cheshire Ethiopia
Cheshire Ethiopia is a non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of persons with disabilities through inclusive health, rehabilitation, education, and community development programs. The organization is currently implementing the Connected Care Project and is seeking qualified and dedicated professionals to join its team in Addis Ababa, Oromia, and Sidama.
Position 1: Project Coordinator
Educational Qualification
Applicants should meet one of the following requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Rehabilitation Sciences, Project Management, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Rehabilitation/Disability Studies, Social Work, or a related discipline with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
Additional training in disability-inclusive development, assistive technology, or project management is an added advantage.
Experience
- Experience coordinating or managing multi-site health, rehabilitation, or development projects within an NGO.
- Knowledge of Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR), disability inclusion, or assistive technology programs.
- Experience working with regional government health and education offices.
- Familiarity with donor-funded projects, budgeting, and reporting requirements.
- Experience with organizations such as Liliane Fonds is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong project planning and team coordination skills.
- Monitoring and evaluation experience using tools such as Kobo or Power BI.
- Financial and budget management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic.
- Knowledge of Afaan Oromo and/or Sidaamu Afoo is an asset.
- Commitment to disability inclusion, gender equality, and community development.
- Willingness to travel regularly to remote project locations.
Duty Station: Addis Ababa (Head Office) with field assignments in Bishoftu, Ambo, and Hawassa.
Position 2: Mobile Rehabilitation Unit Field Team Lead (Rehabilitation Technician)
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics, or another related rehabilitation field.
- Professional certification or registration is required.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical or rehabilitation experience.
- Experience in community outreach or NGO projects is an advantage.
- Experience working with children and youth with disabilities is highly desirable.
Duty Stations:
- MRU-1: Adama, Dukem, Bishoftu, Modjo, Sendafa
- MRU-2: Sheger City, Holeta, Ejere, Ginchi, Ambo, Tulubolo, Teji, Woliso
- MRU-3: Sidama Region (Rotational assignments)
Position 3: Community Mobilizer
Educational Qualification
- Diploma or Level V in Community Health, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field.
- Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in community mobilization, social work, disability programs, or health outreach.
- Experience working with children, youth, and rural communities is an advantage.
- Previous involvement with disability organizations or community-based organizations is desirable.
Duty Station: Target Woredas in Oromia and Sidama (Local recruitment).
Position 4: Assistive Technology (AT) Maintenance Specialist & Driver
Educational Qualification
- Technical or vocational certificate in Automotive Mechanics, General Mechanics, Assistive Technology, Prosthetics & Orthotics Technology, or another related technical field.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in driving, vehicle maintenance, or equipment repair.
- Experience maintaining assistive devices or technical workshop equipment is an advantage.
- Experience working in rural or remote project areas is preferred.
Duty Stations: Bishoftu, Ambo, and Hawassa with regular travel to project sites.
