Première Urgence Internationale (PUI), a leading humanitarian NGO operating in 24 countries, is recruiting a Health Coordinator to provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership for health and nutrition programs in Ethiopia.
Health Coordinator
Role Overview
The Health Coordinator ensures high‑quality project design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting while representing PUI in health sector coordination forums. The role reports to the Deputy Country Director for Programs and directly manages the Pharmacy and MEAL Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Lead health program strategy development aligned with national policies. Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to WHO, Sphere, and national standards. Oversee planning, implementation, and monitoring of health projects. Ensure robust monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems. Represent PUI in health cluster meetings and strengthen partnerships. Mentor and build capacity of health staff and partners. Ensure compliance with donor regulations and organizational policies.
Qualifications
Medical Doctor or degree in Public Health, Nursing, or other Health Sciences; Master’s in Public Health preferred. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in humanitarian health programming. Strong technical knowledge in public health, project management, and capacity building. Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic; knowledge of other local languages is an advantage. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
