Role description

The pre-trip inspection process for the truck fleet, thereby enhancing safety and operational efficiency. This role involves establishing and enforcing inspection protocols, coordinating maintenance schedules, and leading a team of transport personnel to ensure that each vehicle complies with safety standards before deployment.
By effectively managing the pre-trip inspection process, the incambunt plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient transportation operation within the organization.
Develop and implement comprehensive pre-trip inspection checklists and protocols aimed at ensuring the safety and reliability of trucks.
Guarantee that all trucks undergo meticulous inspections before each trip to promptly identify and address potential safety issues.

Provide training designed to ensure that all team members comprehend and adhere to inspection standards and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements of truck safety and maintenance.
Produce detailed reports on inspection results and truck conditions for review by management.
Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team to schedule necessary repairs and maintenance based on inspection findings.
Oversee the timely execution of maintenance activities to minimize fleet downtime.
Analyze inspection data to identify trends and areas for enhancement in fleet safety and performance.
Implement strategies to improve the overall reliability and readiness of the fleet.
Establish effective communication channels with other departments to ensure seamless transport logistics and operational coordination.
Report significant vehicle safety issues or concerns to senior management promptly.
Assist in the formulation and management of the budget allocated for fleet maintenance and inspections.
Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to financial objectives.
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Transportation Management or a related role
Knowledgeable about industry trends, supply chain processes, best practices, and compliance requirements.
Organizational and planning skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Problem-solving and Analytical skills.
Extensive knowledge of route planning and Driver management.
Time Management and Collaboration.
Skills in numerical and statistical analysis.
Business acumen and excellent communication skills.
Excellent technical, commercial, and analytical skills including the ability to present business cases for the Fleet operations.
Leadership.
Strong knowledge of Trucking Regulations, Safety Standards, and industry best practices
Excellent Leadership and Management skills, with experience managing a team.
Proficient in Transportation Management Software and technology, such as TMS, GPS tracking, and SAP ERP
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience analyzing data and making data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proven track record of prioritizing safety and reducing accidents/incidents
