Pharmacy Assistant
. The successful candidate will support pharmaceutical warehouse operations, stock management, and medicine distribution while contributing to humanitarian health programs across Ethiopia.
PUI has been operating in Ethiopia since 2022, providing health, nutrition, and emergency response services in regions affected by conflict and natural disasters, including
Afar, Benishangul-Gumuz, and Amhara

Position: Pharmacy Assistant
Job Summary
The Pharmacy Assistant will be responsible for supporting pharmacy and warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage, stock control, documentation, and distribution of medicines and medical supplies. The role also involves working closely with health facilities, logistics teams, and emergency response programs to ensure the continuous availability of essential pharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities
Receive medicines and medical supplies using proper documentation.
Verify quantities and inspect products for quality and damage.
Organize pharmaceutical stock according to Good Storage Practices.
Monitor warehouse temperature, humidity, expiry dates, and batch numbers.
Maintain stock cards, bin cards, and inventory records.
Assist in preparing weekly and monthly pharmacy and stock reports.
Support medicine distribution and dispatch to health facilities.
Train healthcare workers on medication handling and stock management.
Coordinate with medical, logistics, and program teams.
Participate in emergency response activities, including setting up mobile clinics and pharmacies.
Perform other duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Required Qualifications
College Degree or Diploma in
Pharmacy
or a related field.
Minimum of
2 years of relevant work experience
in pharmacy management or related activities.
Previous experience with
local organizations or international NGOs
in similar roles is required.
Required Skills
Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance.
Pharmacy and medical commodity management.
Understanding of warehouse and inventory management best practices.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly
Excel
, Word, and Outlook.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure in humanitarian emergency settings.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Language Requirements
Good command of
English
and
Amharic
.
Knowledge of additional local languages is an advantage.
