📸 Position 1: Communications Specialist
SVO is seeking a highly skilled Communications Specialist (preferably with a journalism background) to promote their humanitarian and enterprise initiatives through compelling content, social media, and multimedia storytelling.
🎓 Education & Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations, or a closely related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in publishing, communications, or media with proven content creation and distribution success. Demonstrated experience working with NGOs (humanitarian/development communications) is highly preferred.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 27 and 40 years old.
- Language: Excellent English writing and editing skills. Knowledge of Amharic and Afan Oromo is highly preferable.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities & Technical Skills:
- Create SEO-optimized articles, press releases, blogs, and reports highlighting humanitarian projects and enterprise successes.
- Manage and grow the organization’s presence on Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Produce photography, videography, and graphics using the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) and Canva.
- Proficiency in publishing tools (WordPress/CMS) and social schedulers (Hootsuite/Buffer).
- Engage international platforms (Donors, UN, global NGOs) to amplify reach and collaborate on cross-border campaigns.
- Note: You must submit a portfolio containing links/samples of your photography, videography, graphic design, and multimedia work.
🐄 Position 2: Animal Sciences Professional (Field Role)
SVO requires a dedicated and highly resilient Animal Sciences expert to engage in intensive fieldwork across multiple regional locations.
🎓 Education & Experience Requirements:
- Education: BSc. or MSc. Degree in Animal Sciences or related agricultural fields.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in agricultural or related fieldwork. Experience working as a Development Agent (DA) or in Private Farms is highly valued.
- Language: Strict fluency in English, Afan Oromo, and Amharic is absolutely required.
⚙️ Key Requirements & Desirables:
- Field Readiness: Must be willing to engage in intensive fieldwork and work anywhere as assigned by the organization (Duty stations include Ambo, Burayu, or Bako).
- Resilience: Proven ability to work under pressure with strong character, commitment, and work confidence.
- References: You must provide at least one formal recommendation letter from a supervisor or a church/community leader.
