Job Title:
Maintenance Person (Part-Time Contract)

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Person is responsible for the general maintenance, repair, of the eye clinic's facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs to the building, equipment, and fixtures while responding promptly to maintenance requests.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to the clinic's building and facilities.
Repair and replace lighting fixtures, light bulbs, switches, and electrical outlets as appropriate.
Repair plumbing fixtures, including sinks, faucets, toilets, and minor leaks.
Repair and maintain doors, locks, hinges, windows, cabinets, and other building fixtures.
Perform basic carpentry, painting, patching, and drywall repairs.
Inspect the facility regularly to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
Assist with setting up rooms or moving furniture and equipment as needed.
Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests to minimize disruption to clinic operations.
Participate in emergency preparedness activities and assist during facility emergencies.
Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Spoken English and Amharic
Previous exposure to similar maintenance works
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Polytechnic school graduates with TVET qualification preferred
