BGI Ethiopia is inviting qualified and motivated graduates to apply for the position of Junior Operator at its Hawassa Brewery.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BSc) in one of the following fields:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Electrical or Electronic Engineering
    • Chemistry
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Food Science

Work Experience

  • 0–1 year of relevant work experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), workplace safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times.
  • Support machine start-up, shutdown, cleaning, and changeover activities under the guidance of senior operators.
  • Monitor production process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and machine speed, and report any abnormalities.
  • Assist with loading and unloading raw materials, packaging materials, and production supplies.
  • Carry out basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance activities under supervision.
  • Record production and quality data accurately and prepare shift reports.
  • Help implement waste reduction, segregation, recycling, and environmental compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machinery, equipment, workstations, and production areas in line with 5S standards.
  • Immediately report safety, quality, or operational issues to supervisors or senior operators.
  • Participate in safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and training sessions to improve operational knowledge and workplace safety.
  • Report issues related to the Integrated Management System, including FSMS, QMS, EMS, and OHSMS, to the QSHE Supervisor or immediate supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors or senior operators.
