Elegance General Trading PLC is inviting qualified and capable candidates to apply for the position of Junior Accountant in Addis Ababa.

The company is associated with ELEGAS Ethiopia Trading PLC and operates across several business areas, including customer support and operations for Yango Ethiopia, Ethiopian coffee exports through Elegance Coffee, event planning and wedding decoration, and the importation of event furniture.

Position: Junior Accountant

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a private company.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Peachtree.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good leadership and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing organizations for audits.
• Experience in the transportation or service sector.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Managing the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Supervising junior accounting and finance staff.
• Ensuring compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Preparing and submitting VAT, Withholding Tax, and payroll tax reports.
• Monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Conducting bank and cash reconciliations.
• Supporting internal and external audit activities.
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Implementing and monitoring internal control procedures.
• Preparing financial reports and analysis for management.
