Safaricom Ethiopia is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for three available positions. The opportunities cover IT business analysis, digital and financial services auditing, and telecom network deployment.

Position 1: IT Business Analyst

Education

• Degree in Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of broad technical experience covering areas such as databases, applications, infrastructure, cloud technologies, software development, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, and system design.
• Experience or professional certification in Business Analysis, such as CBAP or IIBA, is preferred.
• Knowledge of software development life-cycle methodologies, including Agile (SAFe/Scrum) and Waterfall.
• Experience developing and implementing complex technical roadmaps.
• Ability to work effectively with third-party suppliers.
• Strong business understanding and commercial mindset.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and promote effective delivery practices.
• Ability to lead initiatives in environments where formal authority may be limited.
• Ability to guide and mentor others on architecture principles.
• Knowledge of telecommunications domains such as VAS, Charging, CRM, and Digital Services.

Position 2: Digital & Financial Services Audit Manager

Experience & Requirements

• 6–8 years of audit experience in telecommunications, banking, technology, or related sectors.
• Strong experience with data-intensive controls and project assurance.
• Experience in a reputable professional audit firm or established internal audit function is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of data analytics and technology-enabled auditing in high-volume transaction environments.
• Experience using analytics tools such as IDEA and/or Python.
• Ability to use internal controls to improve business efficiency, compliance, and sustainable growth.
• Experience implementing automated controls.
• Experience conducting IT audits and risk assessments.
• Ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate actionable findings.
• Strong risk identification, assessment, and mitigation capabilities.
• Experience delivering audit assignments and strategic project assurance.
• Knowledge of financial-services regulations, AML/CFT, data protection, and consumer protection.
• Awareness of cybersecurity risks affecting digital financial services, payment systems, and customer information.
• Ability to analyze financial data, transaction flows, and revenue processes to identify anomalies and control weaknesses.
• Strong process-improvement and governance skills.

Position 3: Program Manager – Network Deployment

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of project or program management experience.
• PMP certification or a similar qualification is an advantage.
• Experience in telecom rollout projects or technology infrastructure projects.
• Experience with telecom networks and power solutions.
• Strong understanding of telecom power and network components.
• Knowledge of power and TI connection procedures, permits, and integration with telecommunications infrastructure.
• Familiarity with electrical safety requirements for telecom site deployment.
• Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools for reporting, data visualization, and performance analysis.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams involving engineers, vendors, and contractors.
