Role description

Empowering People for Sustainable Solutions (EPSS), is a non-governmental, not for profit organization with the headquarters in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) established in 2021. EPSS is a humanitarian and development organization established with the aim of changing customers’ perceptions towards safety, security, and wellbeing by outdoing ourselves every day. It provides explosive ordnance risk education (EORE), Non-Technical Survey (NTS), explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), minefield survey, travel risk management services and importantly safety and security services, Rehabilitation and Conflict Resolution to help the recovery and development of affected communities.
EPSS in collaboration with Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is currently at the verge of starting the project entitled: Enhancing EORE and NTS in Conflict Affected Woredas of the Central Zone, Tigray Regional State.
EPSS is looking for qualified and competent applicants for the following positions:

The IT and Data Collector is responsible for collecting, verifying, managing, and maintaining accurate data using digital and manual data collection systems. The position supports organizational operations by ensuring data quality, security, and timely reporting while also providing basic information technology (IT) support for hardware, software, and network-related activities.
The role involves conducting field and office-based data collection, entering and validating information in databases, generating reports, troubleshooting basic IT issues, maintaining electronic records, and ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards. The IT and Data Collector works closely with project teams, management, and stakeholders to ensure reliable information is available for planning, monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, record, and verify data from various sources accurately and efficiently.
Maintain databases and ensure data quality, completeness, and consistency.
Prepare routine reports, summaries, and data analysis outputs.
Support data entry, data cleaning, and data validation activities.
Provide basic IT support for computers, printers, software applications, and network connectivity.
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and systems.
Ensure proper backup, storage, and security of electronic data.
Train and assist users in utilizing data collection tools and information systems.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational data protection policies.
Perform other related duties assigned by supervisors.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Data Management, or a related field.
Experience in data collection, data entry, database management, or IT support is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and database applications.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
