JOB SUMMARY
The position holder shall oversee quality implementation and delivery of health and nutrition services at the targeted health facility. The role Will also support the Health and Nutrition specialist in facilitating and implementing overall health and Nutrition intervention as per the planned project activities in field site. Provides routine technical support to Health workers in the targeted Health facilities on the day-to-day implementation of life saving PHC services and Nutrition. prepare and submit reports regularly to immediate supervisor. S/he will also closely work with field M/E, finance, logistic, HR and Admins for successful implementation of health and Nutrition response project.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that the planned activities are implemented according to the work plan within the planned budget with good quality as per the national and IMC standards
Facilitate training, workshops and other meetings.
Serve as an emergency health and Nutrition resource person at field sites next to the Health and Nutrition specialist.
Consult and work with Field Site Manager, government health workers and field staff in emergency Health and Nutrition response.
Ensure strong linkage of health and Nutrition components with other components of the project such as livelihood, WASH and disaster prevention and preparedness.
Responsible for the Health and Nutrition intervention supervision and monitoring at the project sites.
Create smooth relations and collaboration with Government stakeholders.
Prepare detailed implementation plan and share with the CO health and Nutrition Team.
Ensure implementation of all health planned activities upon expected quality and schedule at all levels.
Support facilitation of review meetings to identify project gaps and successes.
Undertake assessment to identify gap and status of Health and Nutrition at each woredas by engagement of Officers.
Provide technical support for Health workers in the targeted government Health facilities.
Participate in joint supportive supervision by involving the key health and Nutrition partners at zonal and woreda level.
Represent IMC in Health and Nutrition Cluster Coordination meeting organized at project site as per the need.
Prepare and provide regular Bi-weekly and monthly progress reports with approval of the Field Site Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily comprehensive.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in public health/nursing or related field of study with 2 years of experience in field.
Experience on emergency PHEM and emergency health response through MHNT, BCC and intervention like major epidemic diseases surveillance and epidemic/outbreak investigation and response
Training on PHEM
Experience of facilitation of training review meetings and workshops
Experience on budget and manpower management
Excellent computer skills, including all Microsoft applications
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
Ability to develop good team spirit and support field staff
Knowledge of the respective site language is mandatory.
