About the Embassy of Malta
The Embassy of Malta in Addis Ababa is inviting qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the position of Project Manager under local employment in accordance with Ethiopian law.
Position: Project Manager
Key Responsibilities
Identify project opportunities and support development of new initiatives aligned with Embassy priorities. Prepare project concept notes, proposals, budgets, frameworks, and implementation plans. Coordinate and monitor project implementation to ensure timely delivery within budget. Develop and maintain project work plans, schedules, and milestones. Monitor budgets and ensure sound financial management and reporting. Prepare narrative and financial reports based on project requirements. Maintain effective communication with partners, government institutions, stakeholders, and Embassy staff. Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities, and recommend mitigation measures. Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities, including data collection and analysis. Provide regular progress updates and strategic advice to Embassy leadership. Perform other project‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred. Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience; prior experience with a Diplomatic Mission or International Organization is an advantage. Languages: Fluency in English and Amharic (spoken and written). Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Organizational and time management abilities Analytical, delegation, and management skills Ability to work independently and take initiative Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
