International Development Enterprises (iDE) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to creating sustainable income and livelihood opportunities for rural communities. Through market-based and climate-smart development programs, iDE works to strengthen inclusive market systems while empowering entrepreneurs, smallholder farmers, women, and youth to improve their economic well-being.
The organization is currently inviting qualified professionals to apply for the following positions.
Position 1: Communications Consultant
Position Summary
iDE is seeking a creative and results-oriented Communications Consultant to enhance the visibility of project achievements. The successful candidate will document project impacts through engaging stories, professional photography, videography, digital content, and social media management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Marketing, Film Production, or a related field.
- Proven experience in photography, videography, video editing, and visual storytelling.
- Experience producing communication materials such as success stories, case studies, photo stories, short videos, and other digital content.
Contract Duration
- Six (6) months, with the possibility of extension.
Duty Station
- Addis Ababa, with frequent travel to project implementation areas.
Salary
- As per the organization's salary scale.
Position 2: Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment Expert (3 Positions)
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidates will:
- Identify, mobilize, and support youth- and women-led MSMEs, including startups and existing businesses.
- Conduct enterprise assessments and prepare business growth plans.
- Design and deliver Business Development Services (BDS).
- Provide business coaching, mentoring, and technical advisory support.
- Facilitate entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and digital business skills training.
- Support enterprises in preparing business plans, marketing strategies, financial management, and pricing.
- Strengthen market access and facilitate connections with financial institutions, investors, and business partners.
- Build partnerships with government offices, TVET institutions, private sector organizations, and enterprise support providers.
- Monitor enterprise performance and prepare high-quality technical and donor reports.
- Ensure compliance with project standards, safeguarding policies, and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field.
- Master's Degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in entrepreneurship development, MSME development, Business Development Services (BDS), business coaching, mentoring, and private sector engagement.
- Good understanding of Market Systems Development (MSD) approaches.
- Experience delivering entrepreneurship and business management training.
- Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and enterprise performance tracking.
- Strong analytical, coaching, facilitation, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital data collection tools.
Language Requirements
- Excellent written and spoken English and Amharic.
- For positions requiring work in Guba Koricha Woreda (Chiro), West Hararghe Zone, proficiency in Afan Oromo is required.
- Knowledge of additional local languages is an advantage.
Duty Stations
- Addis Ababa – 2 Positions
- One (1) consultancy contract for six months.
- One (1) fixed-term contract for one year, with possible extension.
- Nekemte (Guto Gida Woreda), Oromia Regional State – 1 Position
- One-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.
Salary
