Coffee Quality Test Grader (Q-Grader/Coffee Quality Grader)
Job Summary
The Coffee Quality Test Grader is responsible for evaluating the physical and sensory quality of green and roasted coffee beans. The role involves grading coffee according to industry standards, conducting cupping sessions, identifying defects, preparing quality reports, and ensuring that purchased or exported coffee meets company and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Coffee Quality Inspection
Inspect green coffee beans for physical defects, moisture content, bean size, density, and uniformity.
Grade coffee according to company standards and applicable national or international grading systems.
Evaluate incoming coffee deliveries before acceptance.
Verify compliance with customer quality specifications.
Coffee Cupping & Sensory Evaluation
Laboratory Testing
Measure moisture content.
Determine water activity (if applicable).
Conduct screen size analysis.
Assess bean density.
Record laboratory test results accurately.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare daily quality inspection reports.
Maintain grading and cupping records.
Report quality issues to management.
Recommend acceptance, rejection, or reprocessing of coffee lots.
Maintain traceability records.
Coordination
Work closely with:
Export & Procurement team
Warehouse staff
Production team
Export department
Provide technical feedback on coffee quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Food Science, Coffee Quality, or a related field.
Certification as a Coffee Q-Grader is highly desirable.
Experience in coffee grading, cupping, or quality assurance is preferred.
