GOAL Ethiopia is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for several positions related to animal health, livestock development, cash-based assistance, and humanitarian programming.

Position 1: Animal Health Officer

Requirements

  • DVM or BSc in Veterinary Science, Animal Health, Veterinary Public Health, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in livestock and animal health programs.
  • Experience in livestock disease surveillance and vaccination campaigns.
  • Experience working with government veterinary services and community-based animal health programs.
  • Experience in humanitarian or resilience projects is an advantage.

Duty Stations: Tigray – Tahtay Adeyabo and Rama Adi; Afar – Aba’ala, Bidu and Kori.

Position 2: Cash and Market System Officer

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration, Rural Development, Livelihoods, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
  • At least 4 years of experience in cash-based programming, market systems, livelihoods, or humanitarian assistance.
  • Experience implementing Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) programs.
  • Experience conducting market assessments and monitoring market conditions.
  • Experience working on donor-funded projects such as ECHO, USAID/BHA, FCDO, UN agencies, Irish Aid, or EU-funded programs.
  • Experience in pastoral and agro-pastoral areas is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of mobile money, digital payments, or electronic cash delivery systems is an advantage.

Duty Station: Wesema and Erebti Woredas, Afar.

Position 3: Project Manager – Animal Health

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Veterinary Epidemiology, Livestock Development, Project Management, Public Health, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 4 years in management or leadership positions.
  • Proven experience managing donor-funded humanitarian or resilience projects.
  • Experience in Anticipatory Action, drought response, resilience building, and emergency livelihood programs.
  • Strong background in animal health and livestock interventions.
  • Experience coordinating with government institutions and UN agencies.
  • Previous experience with FAO-funded projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in pastoral and agro-pastoral areas of Ethiopia.

Duty Station: Afdera, Afar Region.

Position 4: Livestock and Animal Feed Officer

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Livestock Production, Animal Nutrition, Range Management, Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant area is an advantage.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in livestock development, animal feed, fodder production, or emergency livestock response.
  • Experience working with pastoral and agro-pastoral communities.
  • Experience implementing donor-funded livestock projects.
  • Experience in feed security assessments and livestock resilience programs is highly desirable.

Duty Station: Wesema and Erebti Woredas, Afar.

Position 5: Animal Health Officer – Contested Areas

Requirements

  • DVM or BSc in Veterinary Science, Animal Health, Veterinary Public Health, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in livestock and animal health programming.
  • Experience in disease surveillance and vaccination campaigns.
  • Experience working with government veterinary systems and community-based animal health programs.
  • Humanitarian or resilience programming experience is desirable.

Duty Station: Wolkait, Maytsebri and Awura.

Position 6: Animal Health Project Manager

Requirements

  • DVM or Master’s degree in Veterinary Epidemiology, Veterinary Public Health, Animal Health, Livestock Production, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in animal health and livestock programming.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior technical or management role.
  • Experience managing livestock disease surveillance activities.
  • Experience planning and supervising vaccination campaigns.
  • Strong team management and field operations experience.
  • Experience working with government veterinary institutions.
  • Experience managing donor-funded humanitarian or resilience programs.
