World Vision Ethiopia is inviting qualified and motivated recent graduates to apply for the position of Advocacy & External Engagement Intern. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to support advocacy initiatives, policy research, and external engagement activities in collaboration with the African Union (AU).

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields:
    • Social Sciences
    • Communication
    • Public Policy
    • Management
    • Law
  • A training certificate in Advocacy, Child Rights, or Policy Influence is an added advantage.
  • Applicants must have graduated within the last two years.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in advocacy, external engagement, campaigns, or policy analysis in developing countries is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Child Rights, including the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child or the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
  • Experience organizing workshops, forums, or events involving participants from multiple countries.
  • Research experience in policy and advocacy is desirable.
  • Understanding of humanitarian and fragile contexts.
  • Knowledge of the African Union (AU) is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on African Union engagements and events relevant to the AU Liaison Office.
  • Conduct policy research and analysis.
  • Support networking and external engagement initiatives.
  • Provide administrative, planning, and reporting support.
  • Assist with communication and advocacy activities.

Language Requirements

  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of any African Union official language is an added advantage.

  • Very minimal travel.
