Amigos Saving and Credit Cooperative (Amigos SACCO) is inviting qualified and interested candidates to apply for four different positions across several locations in Ethiopia. The available roles include Accountant, Member Services Officer, Loan Officer, and Branch Manager.

Amigos SACCO has more than 11 years of experience in savings and credit cooperative services. The organization reports having over 7,500 members, more than 110 employees, and total assets exceeding Birr 2.5 billion.

Position 1: Accountant – Junior Level

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process savings, withdrawals, transfers, loan repayments, and other transactions accurately.
  • Enter transactions into the ERP/Core Banking system.
  • Perform daily bank and member-account reconciliations.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Open and maintain member accounts and respond to member inquiries.
  • Explain financial products and digital services to members.
  • Support savings and deposit mobilization.
  • Participate in marketing and community outreach activities.

Locations: Mizan Teferi, Arba Minch, Debre Berhan, Dire Dawa, Wolkite, Dessie, Jigjiga, and Wolaita Sodo.

Position 2: Member Services Officer – Intermediate Level

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Cooperative Management, Marketing, Management, Accounting, or a related business field.

Experience

  • 2–3 years of relevant customer-service or front-office experience in financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and orient new members.
  • Verify member-registration documents in accordance with KYC, AML, and applicable regulations.
  • Explain member rights, responsibilities, and financial products.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with members and support retention.
  • Identify opportunities to promote relevant financial products and services.
  • Handle and follow up on member complaints and grievances.
  • Support financial literacy programs.
  • Educate members about information security, transaction safety, and digital security.

Locations: Shashemene, Hosanna, Gondar, Mizan Teferi, Arba Minch, Debre Berhan, Dire Dawa, Wolkite, Dessie, Jigjiga, Wolaita Sodo, Bonga, Harar, Semera, Bishoftu (Debre Zeyit), and Shakiso.

Position 3: Loan Officer – Intermediate Level

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cooperative Business Management, Economics, Accounting, Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–3 years of experience in credit analysis, lending operations, or customer credit management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate loan applications, credit risks, and collateral.
  • Manage the loan process from approval and disbursement through recovery.
  • Support member acquisition and savings mobilization through outreach and marketing activities.
  • Monitor loan portfolios and identify potential repayment problems.
  • Implement appropriate recovery and collection measures.
  • Advise members on financial literacy, loan products, and savings services.
  • Coordinate with finance, financial mobilization, and member-service teams.

Position 4: Branch Manager

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise day-to-day branch operations.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop branch employees.
  • Monitor branch financial performance and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with members.
  • Support branch growth through targeted marketing and sales strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of financial products and services.
  • Prepare and submit reports to senior management.
