Role description

Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, processing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and supporting the organization's financial planning and decision-making. The role helps safeguard company assets through proper financial controls and timely reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Record and classify all financial transactions accurately and promptly.
Maintain the general ledger and supporting accounting records.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Ensure reports are accurate and submitted on time.
Verify supplier invoices and supporting documents.
Process payments to suppliers in accordance with company policies and payment terms.
Prepare customer invoices and record receipts.
Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
Reconcile bank accounts and key ledger accounts regularly.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, withholding tax, income tax, etc.) within statutory deadlines.
Maintain proper tax records and support tax audits.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor actual performance against budgets and report variances.
Ensure compliance with company financial policies and accounting procedures.
Safeguard company assets through effective financial controls.
Maintain the fixed asset register.
Record acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation, and conduct periodic asset verification.
Prepare accounting records and schedules for internal and external audits.
Implement audit recommendations where applicable.
Ensure all financial documents are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support management decision-making.
Identify financial risks and recommend improvements.
Carry out any other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager or Chief Accountant.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
2-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Experience with ERP systems (such as Odoo, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) is an advantage.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
Financial reporting.
Tax regulations.
Microsoft Excel proficiency.
ERP system knowledge.
Bank reconciliation.
Budgeting and forecasting.
