Key Responsibilities
Office Operations and Administration
Ensure compliance with statutory, contractual, and internal policies. Support office governance, safeguarding, health and safety, and related corporate requirements. Provide day-to-day office and project support. Coordinate travel, logistics, events, and other in-country activities. Support colleagues with insurance, equipment, visas, and related administrative matters. Manage office documents, records, storage, and security. Procure and maintain IT equipment, office furnishings, and other assets. Manage office suppliers, contracts, leases, insurance, banking relationships, and other operational services. Support recruitment and onboarding of employees in Ethiopia. Maintain the office asset register and coordinate procurement, inventory, maintenance, and disposal.
Finance and Accounting
Process staff payments, claims, advances, expenses, and external invoices. Coordinate payroll, supplier payments, expense payments, and statutory payments. Prepare tax and statutory calculations, deductions, and returns. Support statutory audits and liaise with internal teams and external auditors. Prepare, review, and submit payroll information for approval. Complete month-end financial reporting and bank reconciliations. Review monthly accounts, trial balances, and overhead expenditure. Prepare financial journals, adjustments, and accruals. Prepare and monitor overhead budgets. Coordinate monthly cash requests and monitor spending against approved budgets.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration , or a related field. Alternatively, a university degree in another field combined with a professional accounting or finance qualification such as CPA, CIA, or equivalent . Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in finance and office administration or a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word . Training or experience with local e-tax filing systems. Experience with SharePoint and accounting software . Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of office procedures. Strong attention to detail. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good working knowledge of English. Experience with international organizations or a similar industry is an advantage.
