💼 Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
As a MEL Intern, you will receive intensive hands-on experience in data management, quality assurance, and reporting. Your daily tasks will be divided as follows:
- Database Maintenance & Data Entry (40%): Maintain centralized project databases (SQL). Clean and process JSON data exports from mobile platforms. Verify historical indicator trends.
- Mobile Data Collection & Form Configuration (20%): Program mobile survey forms using XLS Form scripting for KoboToolbox/ODK. Troubleshoot form validation errors and deployment bugs.
- Data Quality Assurance & Cleaning (20%): Perform routine data audits to eliminate duplicates, outliers, and missing indicators. Maintain clear database metadata and data dictionaries.
- Reporting & Visualization (15%): Run database queries to compile progress reports. Support automated data pipelines feeding into Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio.
- Administrative Support (5%): Digitize and archive MEL documents to ensure proper record management in accordance with retention policies.

This is a technical internship designed for data-driven individuals. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Essential Requirements:
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in MEAL, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Science.
- Software Proficiency: Strict proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Reference: Must provide a formal letter of recommendation from a university attesting to your personal integrity, reliability, and sense of responsibility.
