Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 1–3 years of proven experience in import/export operations, logistics, or supply chain management (junior to mid-level).

Key Responsibilities
Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare, review, organize, and maintain import and export documentation in accordance with Ethiopian customs and government regulations.
- Process import and export permits through the Ethiopia Single Window (ESW) system and ensure timely approvals.
- Prepare and verify essential trade documents, including:
- Proforma Invoices
- Commercial Invoices
- Packing Lists
- Bills of Lading (B/L), Air Waybills (AWB), and Truck Waybills (TWA)
- Certificates of Origin
- Insurance Certificates
- Inspection Certificates
- Letters of Credit (L/C) and other banking documents
- Handle Djibouti Free Zone documentation and billing processes.
- Ensure full compliance with regulations issued by the Ethiopian Customs Commission, Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration (MoTRI), and the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE).
Logistics & Shipment Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs clearing agents, and financial institutions to ensure efficient cargo movement.
- Track shipments and provide regular status updates to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor logistics costs, including freight, customs duties, storage, handling, and demurrage charges.
- Manage shipment schedules to ensure timely delivery while proactively addressing delays.
- Maintain organized logistics records and documentation for auditing and future reference.
Banking & Foreign Exchange
- Work closely with banks to facilitate foreign exchange approvals and process Letters of Credit (L/C), Cash Against Documents (CAD), advance payments, and documentary collections in compliance with National Bank of Ethiopia directives.
- Ensure all banking documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
Record Keeping & Reporting
- Maintain accurate shipment records, import/export databases, and tracking systems.
- Prepare operational reports and analyze data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support inventory and supply chain management activities.
General Duties
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Import/Export Manager or Logistics Head.
- Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by management to ensure smooth logistics and supply chain operations.
