Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and supervising electrical engineering works across construction and infrastructure projects. The position covers electrical power distribution, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, and HVAC electrical installations while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design
Prepare electrical designs, calculations, layouts, and technical drawings. Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), load schedules, cable schedules, panel schedules, and lighting layouts. Design low-voltage electrical distribution systems. Review shop drawings and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Solar PV Systems
Design on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar photovoltaic systems. Perform energy assessments, system sizing, battery storage calculations, and inverter selection. Prepare solar layouts, SLDs, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
ELV Systems
Design and supervise:
CCTV Surveillance Systems Access Control Systems Fire Alarm Systems Public Address Systems Structured Cabling Systems Data and Network Infrastructure Telephone Systems Video Intercom Systems Intrusion Alarm Systems
HVAC Electrical Systems
Design electrical power supply and control systems for HVAC installations. Coordinate with mechanical engineering teams. Prepare HVAC electrical load calculations. Supervise installation and commissioning activities.
Project Management
Supervise electrical installation works. Conduct site inspections and monitor project progress. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams. Prepare RFQs, technical reports, inspection reports, and progress reports.
Cost Estimation
Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and material specifications. Review tender documents and support bidding activities. Evaluate supplier quotations and recommend suitable materials.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning. Resolve technical installation issues. Prepare as-built documentation. Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Follow company HSE policies and engineering standards. Ensure compliance with IEC, NEC, IEEE, ASHRAE, and other applicable standards. Identify project risks and recommend mitigation measures. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university. Professional engineering registration is an advantage. Specialized certification in Solar PV, ELV Systems, or HVAC Design is desirable.
Experience
Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience. At least 5 years of experience in electrical building services design. Proven experience in: Solar PV Systems ELV Systems HVAC Electrical Systems Electrical Distribution Systems Experience in construction, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, or institutional projects is preferred. Experience using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, DIALux, PVsyst, and Microsoft Office applications is highly desirable.
