BGI Ethiopia is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the following career opportunities. The company is seeking both fresh graduates and experienced professionals to join its team at the Sebeta and Meta Plant locations.

Position 1: Environmental Expert (Fresh Graduates)

Duty Station: Sebeta

Required Qualification

• Advanced Degree in:
  • Environmental Science
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Related fields

Experience and Knowledge

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have:

• Basic understanding of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) processes.
• Knowledge of Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) preparation and compliance monitoring.
• Familiarity with Ethiopian environmental laws and regulations.
• Basic knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and environmental auditing.
• Ability to participate in environmental awareness and training activities.

Required Skills

• Environmental regulations and compliance.
• Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science.
• Water Resource and Natural Resource Management.
• Project management skills.

Position 2: Senior Welder (Meta Plant)

Required Qualification

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

• TVET Level II or Level III Certificate with CoC in:
  • General Mechanics
  • Electromechanics
  • Industrial Mechanics
  • Industrial Electricity
  • Manufacturing Technology
• Diploma or Certificate in Welding, Fabrication, or Mechanical Technology.

Experience

• Minimum of 5–7 years of welding experience in an FMCG manufacturing company or industrial environment.
• At least 3 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.

Required Skills

• Practical experience in TIG, MIG, Stick, and Argon welding, particularly on stainless steel and food-grade pipelines.
• Ability to read P&ID diagrams, fabrication drawings, and welding specifications.
• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
