💼 What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities
The project manager should possess a mix of hard skills, like data analysis, and soft skills, such as delegation and management, along with excellent organization and time management abilities. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying project opportunities and supporting new initiatives in line with the Embassy’s priorities.
- Drafting funding proposals, concept notes, budgets, logical frameworks, and implementation plans, as well as other project documentation as required.
- Coordinating and monitoring project implementation to ensure activities are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with agreed objectives.
- Developing and maintaining project work plans, schedules, and milestones, and ensuring timely completion of project deliverables.
- Monitoring project budgets and ensuring sound financial management and reporting in accordance with applicable procurement rules.
- Preparing high-quality financial and narrative reports in line with project reporting obligations and agreed timelines.
- Maintaining effective communication and coordination with implementing partners, government institutions, relevant stakeholders, and relevant Embassy personnel.
- Identifying project risks, implementation challenges, and opportunities, and proposing appropriate mitigation measures while bringing significant issues to the attention of assigned Embassy personnel.
- Supporting project monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities, including the collection and analysis of project data and results.
- Maintaining accurate project records and documentation and ensuring compliance with Embassy procedures and project requirements.
- Providing regular updates and advice to assigned Embassy personnel on project progress, risks, and strategic considerations.
- Undertaking any other project-related duties assigned by the Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Mission.

Essential Requirements
- Fluency in oral and written English and Amharic.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft office tools.
- Strong communication skills.
- Integrity, professionalism, confidentiality; courteous behaviour towards superiors and colleagues at all times.
- Able to demonstrate flexibility, to work independently, take initiative and ability to integrate and work in a team.
- Willingness to work outside normal working hours depending on project implementation requirements.
- Ability to liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience in project management with a Diplomatic Mission/ International Organization.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
