Position: Finance Specialist
Role Purpose
The Finance Specialist serves as the technical anchor for donor budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, and BFU leadership across the Ethiopia country programme. The role ensures quality control, ERP/Dynamics data integrity, and provides targeted coaching to finance staff and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead donor proposal budgets and revisions (ECHO, EU, SIDA, FCDO, USAID, DANIDA, UNICEF, etc.). Own the end‑to‑end donor financial reporting cycle. Drive monthly BFU meetings, variance analysis, and corrective actions. Deliver forward‑looking financial insights (forecasts, burn rates, scenario analysis). Strengthen ERP/Dynamics use and reporting systems. Provide mentoring and capacity building to finance staff. Build standard templates and SOPs for reporting and forecasting. Support audits, partner reviews, and financial compliance.
Candidate Profile
Minimum 3 years’ international financial management experience in INGO/humanitarian settings. 3+ years leading donor budgeting and financial reporting. Proven multi‑donor expertise with compliance application. ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics preferred). Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning skills. Advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, SUMIFS, nested logic). Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/CMA) highly desirable. Excellent written/oral English; concise executive reporting skills.
