Compassion International Ethiopia is hiring for MERL Specialist and Finance & Grants Officer positions in Ethiopia. Both positions are fixed-term roles supported by grant funding approved for one year .
1. MERL Specialist
Location: Ethiopia Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract Duration: One year, supported by grant funding Travel: Up to 25% of normal schedule Work Environment: Standard office environment
Job Summary
The MERL Specialist provides monitoring, evaluation, research and learning expertise for child-focused programs. The position supports high-quality data collection, analysis, interpretation of program performance, reporting and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Support the collection and use of high-quality data to measure program inputs, outputs and outcomes. Provide monitoring and evaluation guidance to program teams and partners. Develop monitoring tools and instruments. Analyze baseline and needs-assessment data to inform program design. Monitor child-focused dashboards and analyze performance trends. Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports and recommendations. Support compliance with program quality standards, policies and procedures. Plan and budget for data collection and monitoring and evaluation activities. Lead or support training for partner staff and external data collectors. Provide technical advice to program managers and leadership. Coach and support professionals working in monitoring and evaluation. Support child protection considerations in program activities and decision-making.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a related field. 7 years of relevant experience . Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization in a related field. Equivalent education, training and/or certification may be substituted for the stated education and experience requirements.
2. Finance & Grants Officer
Location: Ethiopia Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract Duration: One year, supported by grant funding Travel: Up to 10% of normal schedule Work Environment: Standard office environment
Job Summary
The Finance & Grants Officer supports the financial management of donor-funded grants throughout the grant lifecycle, including budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, closeout and audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Support financial management throughout the grant lifecycle. Assist with budget preparation and supporting documentation. Support variance analysis, financial reports, closeout documentation and audit materials. Track grant expenditures and prepare donor-specific financial reports. Coordinate with partner and field accounting teams on procurement documentation and grant requirements. Assist with vendor screening and donor audit activities. Support preparation of audit schedules and documentation. Assist with budgets for government and multilateral donor-funded projects. Support coordination between financial and program activities. Assist with procurement-related financial management. Support training for program staff on donor grant financial requirements. Work under the guidance of managers or senior specialists. Support child protection responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies.
Requirements
