Position: Line Process Engineer
Key Purpose Statement
To optimize line performance through effective operation, monitoring, and control of PET production processes, ensuring production targets, product quality, equipment reliability, and SHEQ compliance are consistently achieved through process control, first-line maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and control production processes to achieve production, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Perform line set-up, start-up, shutdown, and product changeovers in accordance with operating standards.
- Monitor process parameters, collect production data, and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal performance.
- Manage product quality and ensure compliance with company specifications and standards.
- Identify, analyze, and eliminate causes of process losses, waste, and quality defects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, yields, equipment reliability, and process efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring issues.
- Perform first-line maintenance, routine inspections, lubrication, and basic repairs on production equipment.
- Identify equipment abnormalities and coordinate maintenance activities with relevant technical teams.
- Support planned maintenance and shutdown activities to ensure equipment availability and performance.
- Monitor line losses, short stops, and changeover performance, and implement improvement actions.
- Maintain and update operating procedures and work instructions as required.
- Ensure compliance with all SHEQ, GMP, food safety, and environmental requirements.
- Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, and non-conformances, and ensure corrective actions are closed.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and support waste reduction initiatives.
- Follow site safety rules, Life Saving Rules, permit-to-work requirements, and PPE standards at all times.
- Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices during maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with operators, technicians, and cross-functional teams to achieve line performance objectives.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in beverage manufacturing or FMCG environments will be an added advantage.
