The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) is inviting qualified and motivated professionals to apply for various positions within its humanitarian and development programs. ERCS is dedicated to saving lives, supporting vulnerable communities, and strengthening resilience across Ethiopia.
1. Cash and Voucher Assistance Officer
Qualification & Experience:
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Disaster Risk Management, Emergency Preparedness and Response, or related fields. A Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with equivalent experience is also accepted.
- 4 years of experience for Master’s degree holders
- 6 years of experience for Bachelor’s degree holders
Experience in emergency response and development cooperation is required, preferably within the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement.
Skills & Competencies:
- Experience in cash transfer programming and data management
- Strong training and facilitation skills
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines
- Strong commitment to Red Cross/Red Crescent principles and values
- Good written and spoken English communication skills
2. Senior Livelihood and Resilience Officer
Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Rural Development, Development Studies, Business Development, Cooperative Management, or related fields.
- 8 years of experience for Bachelor’s degree holders
- 6 years of experience for Master’s degree holders
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in livelihood and resilience programs, including community reintegration projects
- Ability to plan, implement, monitor, and report project activities
- Experience in training and coaching community groups and field staff
- Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of gender mainstreaming, social protection, and integrated programming approaches
- Experience in data collection, monitoring systems, and beneficiary tracking
- Familiarity with climate-smart and resilience-building strategies
3. Senior Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (PMER) Officer
Qualification & Experience:
Degree or Master’s in Economics, Management, Statistics, Development Studies, or related fields.
- 6 years of experience for Master’s degree holders
- 8 years of experience for Bachelor’s degree holders
Experience in humanitarian and development projects is required.
4. Senior Accountant – Gambella Branch Office
Qualification & Experience:
Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or related fields.
- 6–8 years of relevant experience, including 3–4 years in a senior position
Skills Required:
- Experience with SAP Finance and accounting software
- Strong communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Good problem-solving ability

5. PMER Senior Officer – ERCS–Swedish Red Cross Migration Project
Qualification & Experience:
Degree or Master’s in Economics, Management, Statistics, Development Studies, or related fields.
- 6 years of experience for Master’s degree holders
- 8 years of experience for Bachelor’s degree holders
Experience in humanitarian and development projects is required.
