Role description

ACE Investment and Impact Advisors is a women-owned and led, independent advisory firm that brings a strategic, cross-sector perspective with deep expertise in accelerating public-sector delivery and private-sector development. We work with governments, development partners, private-sector actors, and investors to design and deliver solutions that drive measurable impact.

Position: Junior Graphic Designer

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Multimedia, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience in graphic design, content creation, or social media (internships, freelance, and volunteer work are considered).
  • A strong portfolio showcasing design work across digital and print formats (social media posts, infographics, brochures, presentations, etc.).

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Working proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or Canva; experience with video editing tools (Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar) is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of design principles, including typography, layout, color theory, and brand consistency.
  • Basic knowledge of major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and TikTok) and their content formats and best practices.
  • Technical / IT Skills (Strong Advantage): Candidates with knowledge of basic IT support, website content management (e.g., WordPress), MS Office / Google Workspace, and other digital tools—or who are ready and willing to learn and take on IT-related tasks—will have a better chance.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • A creative mindset with a strong eye for aesthetics, detail, and visual storytelling.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic required, with good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write short, engaging captions.
  • Tech-savvy and eager to learn: comfortable working with technology and willing to build new technical and IT skills on the job.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered design and content tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, take constructive feedback, and deliver quality work within tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
