About the Office
In February 2013, 11 nations signed the Peace, Security and Cooperation (PSC) Framework for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the region, in a renewed drive to end the recurring cycles of devastating conflict in eastern DRC which impacts stability and development in the Great Lakes area of Africa. The framework aims to help "address the root causes of conflict and put an end to recurring cycles of violence" in eastern DRC and the Great Lakes Region.
The Office of the Special Envoy leads, coordinates, and assesses the implementation of national and regional commitments under the PSC Framework.

Position 1: Data Visualization Intern

Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Contribute to the identification, analysis, and interpretation of trends or patterns using statistical methods. Implement process improvement mechanisms for data analytics tasks; acquire and clean data from primary or secondary sources. Contribute to the development of reports, dashboards, or other tools to effectively summarize findings. Track and report on progress regarding department-specific data initiatives. Contribute to the creation of basic data visualization outputs to aid decision-making. Contribute to project tasks, assist with data collection and initial analysis. Contribute to the production of data products like reports or newsletters. Contribute to data collection and gathering business requirements across departments. Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in international relations, political sciences, economics, development, public administration, or other related fields. Computer literate in standard software applications. Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations. Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.

Position 2: Public Information Intern

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in drafting and editing content for public information materials, including press releases, newsletter articles, blogs, and social media. Assist in preparing meetings and seminars and draft meeting minutes. Produce various multimedia materials for online and offline products, including infographics, motion graphics, short videos, publication covers, presentation templates, and event flyers. Prepare professional PPT decks focusing on the work, projects, publications, and activities of the division. Assist in video production including shooting and editing videos, mixing sound, and animating slideshows. Assist in the organization and execution of the launch of publications and events. Provide background research for public information materials. Initiate and carry out assigned tasks/special projects.
Qualifications:
