Eligibility Requirements & Qualifications

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, candidates must strictly meet the following academic and technical criteria:

Academic Status (Must meet ONE of the following):

  • Be currently enrolled in the final year of a first university degree program (Bachelor’s or equivalent).
  • Be currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. Programme (or equivalent).
  • Have recently completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. Programme.
    (Note: Applicants must indicate which criteria they meet and attach proof to the application. An official certificate will be required at a later stage).

Required Field of Study & Skills:

  • Field of Study: Applicants should be pursuing or have completed studies in Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Management, Public Administration, or another related field relevant to administrative and finance support services.
  • Process Improvement: Applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in digital tools, automation, or process improvement through academic coursework, university projects, personal learning, or other relevant experiences.
  • Digital Tools (Desirable): Demonstrated interest or exposure to digital tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Forms, SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI, dashboards, trackers, or similar tools is highly desirable.
