About the RESIslands Initiative
The RESIslands Project – Strengthening the institutional capacities of the African Island States Climate Commission (AISCC) member states to manage climate risks and bolster resilience – is a multi‑country initiative supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) . It covers nine African Island States: Cabo Verde, Comoros, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea‑Bissau, Madagascar, Mauritius, São Tomé & Príncipe, Seychelles, and Tanzania (Zanzibar).
The project aims to enhance institutional capacity, strengthen strategic frameworks, develop climate resilience projects, and promote knowledge sharing among AISCC member states.
Position: Gender and Management Support Consultant
Role Purpose
The Consultant will provide effective management support to the RESIslands project, ensuring the integration of gender‑responsive approaches across project activities, while supporting coordination, reporting, monitoring, and resource mobilization.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management Support: Assist the Project Management Unit (PMU) in overall coordination. Support implementation of country‑level activities. Organize workshops, high‑level events, and official missions. Contribute to the development of the AISCC online portal and e‑infrastructure. Gender Mainstreaming: Ensure gender issues are integrated into project activities. Promote gender‑responsive processes across all initiatives. Partnerships, Reporting & Resource Mobilization: Support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of project activities. Assist in mobilizing resources for follow‑up activities. Strengthen partnerships with implementing entities and stakeholders.
