Since 2004, The Hunger Project Ethiopia has been implementing rural development initiatives that promote self-reliance, gender equality, and locally driven solutions. The organization is currently inviting qualified candidates to apply for the following positions.
Available Positions
1. Finance Intern (Female Only)
Internship Duration: 6 Months
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance. Understanding of basic accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly. Letter of recommendation from a university confirming the applicant's integrity, reliability, and sense of responsibility.
2. MEL Database Intern (Female Only)
Internship Duration: 6 Months
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in MEAL, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Science. Understanding of data management and field research processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information. Letter of recommendation from a university confirming the applicant's integrity, reliability, and sense of responsibility.
3. Project Accountant
Employment Type: One-year contract (with the possibility of extension)
Duty Station: Butajira
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Accounting and Finance.
Experience
Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in a similar role. Experience working in an NGO or INGO environment is an advantage.
Required Competencies
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards. Experience in grant and donor fund management. Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and manage changing priorities. Proficiency in English (spoken and written). Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Commitment to organizational values and mission.
