Shift Fitter II – IS Machine at DEDE Bottle Factory

Job Purpose The Shift Fitter II – IS Machine plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of glass forming and feeder machinery during assigned shifts. This position is responsible for advanced preventive and corrective maintenance, complex fault diagnosis, and coaching junior fitters to maintain mechanical reliability, minimize downtime, and achieve production targets through technical leadership. Key Responsibilities Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct detailed inspections of Individual Section (IS) machines and feeder systems to detect wear, misalignment, or potential failures. Execute advanced preventive maintenance and mechanical adjustments for optimal performance. Troubleshooting & Repairs: Independently diagnose and repair complex mechanical faults. Lead emergency repair efforts to restore machine functionality rapidly during shift operations. Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and coach junior fitters during routine maintenance tasks, complex troubleshooting, and daily operations. Operational Alignment: Coordinate closely with production teams to align maintenance activities with operational schedules and priorities. Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain, audit, and log maintenance records accurately. Report recurring mechanical issues and propose actionable engineering improvements to supervisors. Compliance & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, promote safe work practices across the shift, and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and company operational standards. Other Duties: Perform related operational tasks as assigned by the supervisor. About You Job Requirements & Qualifications Education: BSc Degree or TVET Level 5 in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. Advanced training in IS machine operation, precision alignment, and emergency response is highly preferred. Experience: Minimum of 4 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in glass manufacturing, with proven expertise in IS machines and forming sections. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in mechanical tools, fault diagnosis, and reading complex technical diagrams/manuals. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to document, analyze, and interpret maintenance data to drive reliability. Safety & Standards: In-depth knowledge of workplace safety regulations and industrial machine maintenance procedures.
