About the Position

Buusaa Gonofaa Microfinance invites qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Senior Risk and Compliance Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening risk management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring internal controls, and supporting effective governance practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, or related fields with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s Degree in a relevant field with 6 years of relevant experience.
• LLB degree in Law is an added advantage.
• Experience in risk management, legal services, compliance, or governance is preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Practical experience in risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and internal control systems.
• Knowledge of microfinance or financial institution operations.
• Experience in AML/CTF monitoring and fraud detection is an advantage.
• Understanding of Regulatory Compliance and National Bank of Ethiopia directives.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks.
• Strong audit, investigation, reporting, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English, Afaan Oromoo, and Amharic.
