Seeds of Africa is a nonprofit organization transforming lives through education and economic empowerment in Ethiopia . For 15 years, the organization has provided holistic education to underserved children while empowering mothers and caregivers to become financially independent entrepreneurs.
Today, Seeds of Africa supports over 400 students from Pre‑K through Grade 12, university, and vocational pathways, while helping more than 150 mothers start or expand businesses. The organization is committed to scaling its impact, aiming for a $1M annual budget within the next three years.
Position Overview
The Fundraising & Partnership Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing Seeds of Africa’s fundraising and partnership strategy. This highly relational role focuses on donor cultivation, partnership development, and innovative engagement strategies to grow a diversified funding base.
Key Responsibilities
Support annual fundraising strategy, including goal‑setting and revenue projections. Build and manage a pipeline of high‑net‑worth donors and institutional supporters. Reactivate and engage a dormant network of 4,000+ supporters. Design tailored cultivation and stewardship strategies for donors. Draft proposals, concept notes, and donor communications. Represent the organization at national, regional, and global events. Oversee donor tracking systems, reporting, and compliance. Reimagine fundraising events and design targeted donor gatherings. Collaborate with program teams to align fundraising narratives with impact priorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, marketing, communications, public relations, or related fields. 5–8 years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, or project management. Proven track record of securing fundraising outcomes with HNW individuals and small foundations. Strong communication, relationship‑building, and donor stewardship skills. Experience with CRM systems, donor tracking, and digital engagement platforms. Prior experience living or working in Africa, particularly Ethiopia or East Africa, strongly preferred.
