One of our key initiatives, Project Zero, aims to achieve fistula elimination woreda by woreda, ensuring that no woman suffers needlessly from this preventable condition. Vacancy Information Job Title: Project Zero Officer Reports to : Project Zero Manager Education Requirement : BSc in Midwifery and/ Or MSc in Midwifery and/or MSc, MPH in maternal and child health related fields. Work Experience : Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience working in maternal health, reproductive health, public health. Mode of Employment: Contract/Permanent Salary : As per the scale of the organization Location : Addis Ababa Number of Candidates : Two Gender : Male or Female Announcement Date: May 30, 2026 Deadline for Application : 15 days from the date of announcement Job Summary The Project Officer is responsible for the overall coordination and day-to-day implementation of Project Zero activities within the each project zero Woredas. The position ensures effective planning, supervision, stakeholder engagement, monitoring, reporting, and quality implementation of project activities in collaboration with Project zero teams and local stakeholders. Major Duties and Responsibilities of The Project officer includes the following, but are not limited to: Coordinate and oversee implementation of all Project Zero activities at Woreda level. Ensure activities are implemented according to approved work plans, timelines, and project objectives. Facilitate coordination between the Project Zero team, Woreda Health Office, health facilities, and community stakeholders. Support effective project management, coordination and provide support to field staffs on the project implementation procedure, data management and effective financial management. Support implementation of the Woreda Improvement Plan. Ensure timely execution of awareness, mentorship, surveillance, and referral activities. Prepare detailed activity plans and implementation schedules. Monitor progress of project activities and ensure targets are achieved. Conduct routine supportive supervision and follow-up visits. Support baseline, midline, and end line assessments. Track key performance indicators and programme milestones. Coordinate mentorship activities in collaboration with midwife mentors. Support organization of trainings, review meetings, and learning sessions. Ensure timely collection and compilation of project data. Support data quality assurance activities. Prepare quality technical reports on monthly and quarterly basis and share with . Follow up project logistics, supplies, and equipment distribution. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project files, databases, and contact lists, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Contribute to the identification and documentation of project best practices, lessons learned, and success stories, and support knowledge sharing and learning initiatives within the project team and with external stakeholders. Support office setup and operational coordination at Woreda level. Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Zero manager to support the overall success and impact of the project. About You Work Experience Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience working in maternal health, reproductive health, public health Has previous hands on/ successful experience on project management. Experience in community health and health system strengthening is desirable. Experience working with NGOs or donor-funded projects is mandatory. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Requirement Skill Strong coordination and organizational skills. Good understanding of maternal health and obstetric fistula prevention. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Report writing and documentation skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications. Willingness to travel frequently (around 50%) within the Woreda. Key competencies and professional expertise required: Excellent skill of computer software packages; previous experience with District Health Information System (DHIS) database packages preferred. Fluent in English, Amharic and other local languages and able to communicate with other local languages is preferred. Strong interpersonal, intercultural communication skills, able to work well both within a team and independently under stressful conditions. Proven clinical experience, working in the delivery of maternal, and child health service. Proven experience in developing and implementing service delivery protocols, norms and standards.
