Role description

The Production Control Officer is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and controlling production activities to ensure that production plans are executed efficiently, quality standards are maintained, resources are utilized effectively, and production targets are achieved within the specified time frame.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Production Planning and Follow-up
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production plans and schedules.
Follow up on production activities to ensure adherence to approved plans.
Coordinate with production supervisors and department heads to ensure smooth workflow.
Track production performance against established targets and standards.
Identify production delays, bottlenecks, and operational challenges and report them to management.
Production Control
Monitor production output, efficiency, and resource utilization.
Ensure production processes comply with established procedures and work instructions.
Verify the availability of raw materials, packaging materials, machinery, and manpower required for production.
Follow up on corrective actions related to production deviations and non-conformities.
Assist in maintaining optimal production capacity utilization.
Data Collection and Reporting
Collect and compile daily production data and performance indicators.
Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production reports.
Analyze production data and identify trends affecting productivity and efficiency.
Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Provide management with timely information for decision-making.
Quality and Compliance
Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Coordinate with Quality Control and Maintenance departments to resolve production-related issues.
Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Support internal and external audits related to production operations.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in productivity improvement initiatives.
Recommend improvements in production processes, methods, and controls.
Assist in implementing lean manufacturing and operational excellence practices.
Promote efficient utilization of resources and reduction of production waste.
Authority
Request production information and reports from relevant departments.
Recommend corrective actions for production-related issues.
Participate in production planning and review meetings.
Escalate significant production deviations to management.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of production planning and control systems.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
Strong reporting and data analysis skills.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Production plan achievement rate.
Production efficiency and productivity levels.
Timeliness and accuracy of production reports.
Reduction in production downtime and delays.
Resource utilization efficiency.
Compliance with quality and safety standards.
Number of corrective actions effectively implemented.
Working Conditions
Factory/production environment.
May require extended working hours during peak production periods.
Frequent interaction with production, quality, maintenance, warehouse, and planning departments.
Education
Bachelor's degree / Diploma from a recognized university in Leather Technology / Manufacturing Technology / or a related field
Experience
Minimum 0/2 years of experience; OR a Certificate in Leather Technology
