About the Position
The Attaché position involves supporting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Ethiopia in diplomatic, research, coordination, reporting, and other assigned areas of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
The Attaché will be expected to:
Represent the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Ethiopia in assigned areas of responsibility. Support Ethiopia's foreign policy, national interests, and diplomatic objectives. Monitor political, economic, social, cultural, and other relevant developments in assigned areas. Conduct research and prepare analytical reports, briefs, and assessments related to Ethiopia's bilateral and multilateral relations. Maintain professional relationships with government institutions, diplomatic missions, international organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. Support diplomatic engagements, meetings, official visits, conferences, and other government activities. Collect, analyze, and communicate information relevant to Ethiopia's interests. Assist senior diplomatic officials with policy analysis, correspondence, briefing notes, and official documentation. Promote cooperation between Ethiopian institutions and counterparts in assigned areas. Support bilateral and multilateral programs and initiatives. Attend relevant meetings and events and prepare reports or summaries for the Ministry. Facilitate communication and coordination between Ethiopian diplomatic missions and relevant institutions in Ethiopia and assigned locations. Assist in protecting and promoting Ethiopia's national interests within the assigned area of responsibility. Prepare official correspondence, reports, presentations, and other diplomatic documents. Perform other duties assigned by the Head of Mission or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
