Role description
MERSA Media Institute (MMI) is inviting qualified candidates to apply for Project Associate I and Project Associate II positions in Addis Ababa. Both positions are full-time opportunities for candidates with 0–1 years of experience and have an initial employment period of six months, with the possibility of extension .
The roles support project planning, implementation, coordination, administration, data management, reporting, and related project activities. Project Associate II has a stronger focus on data management, analytics, information systems, and data-related project support.

1. Project Associate I
Number of Positions: 1 Employment Type: Full-time Contract Duration: 6 months, with possibility of extension Career Level: Entry Level Experience: 0–1 years Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with occasional domestic travel Start Date: October 1, 2026 Deadline: September 24, 2026
Position Summary
The Project Associate I will provide administrative, logistical, and technical support to the Project Manager and wider project team. The position supports the day-to-day implementation of project activities and helps ensure that planned activities are properly coordinated and documented.
Key Responsibilities
Support project planning, implementation, and coordination in collaboration with the Project Manager. Track activities and targets included in project action plans and workplans. Organize project meetings, workshops, trainings, stakeholder meetings, and other events. Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, action points, correspondence, and project documents. Coordinate travel, accommodation, transportation, field movements, and event logistics. Support procurement processes, including preparation of Terms of Reference (ToRs), collection of quotations, bid evaluation, and related documentation. Maintain organized project files, databases, contracts, official records, resources, and digital archives. Support project budgeting, field advances, payment documentation, and expense settlement. Support monitoring and evaluation activities through collection, compilation, and verification of project indicator and field data. Assist with project progress reports, donor updates, and other reporting requirements. Coordinate communication with partner organizations, civil society organizations, government offices, community stakeholders, and other relevant actors. Perform other project-related activities as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (Medical Doctor), Economics, Law, Social Studies, or a related field . 0–1 years of work experience , ideally in project management, coordination, or implementation. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Computer proficiency. Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Google Suite . Knowledge of documentation and administrative procedures. Strong project management and organizational skills.

The opportunity is particularly relevant to new graduates interested in data management, analytics, information management, and media development , while developing project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Support project planning, implementation, coordination, and tracking. Develop, maintain, and regularly update project databases and information systems. Collect, organize, classify, digitize, and maintain project data. Maintain data repositories and ensure information is accurate, structured, accessible, and regularly updated. Track project activities, outputs, targets, and progress using appropriate data management and tracking tools. Support collection, compilation, cleaning, and verification of data from field teams, partners, and other sources. Support data analysis, visualization, and preparation of data summaries. Organize project meetings, workshops, trainings, stakeholder meetings, and other events. Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, action points, correspondence, and other project documents.
