Project Associate & Digital Publisher
Position Summary
The Project Associate & Digital Publisher will support MMI’s digital communications, content production, and project implementation activities.
The position will manage and update website and social media content, develop written and visual materials, produce photographic and video documentation, and support the timely dissemination of organizational and project information.
The role will also work with project teams on communications, visibility, documentation, coordination, stories, success stories, social media campaigns, event materials, and other communication products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Digital Content Development & Publishing
Develop, write, edit, and publish digital content for MMI’s communication platforms. Produce news updates, project highlights, success stories, announcements, profiles, and other organizational content. Turn project activities, achievements, and results into accessible digital stories for different audiences. Adapt content for different platforms while maintaining consistent messaging, tone, and branding. Develop and maintain content calendars with project teams. Ensure published content is accurate, timely, relevant, inclusive, and aligned with MMI’s communication objectives.
2. Website Management
Maintain and regularly update MMI’s website. Upload and manage news, articles, publications, reports, events, project information, photographs, videos, and other digital resources. Keep website content current, organized, visually appropriate, and accessible. Identify outdated, missing, or inaccurate content and coordinate updates. Monitor basic website performance and user engagement. Coordinate with web developers and technical service providers when technical assistance is required. Maintain an organized digital archive of published website content and organizational resources.
3. Social Media Management
Manage MMI’s social media platforms and maintain a consistent professional online presence. Develop weekly and monthly social media content plans. Create, edit, and schedule social media posts. Adapt organizational and project content for different social media platforms. Monitor audience engagement and social media analytics. Prepare regular performance updates and recommendations. Identify opportunities to improve audience reach, engagement, and visibility. Support digital campaigns and online awareness initiatives.
4. Photography & Visual Documentation
Photograph events, trainings, workshops, conferences, meetings, campaigns, and project activities. Produce photographs suitable for websites, social media, reports, publications, donor communications, and other organizational uses. Organize, label, archive, and maintain MMI’s photographic database. Edit and optimize photographs for digital and print use. Coordinate with external photographers when specialized production support is required.
5. Videography & Multimedia Production
Plan, film, edit, and produce videos and documentaries for MMI’s digital platforms, projects, campaigns, and communication activities. Produce short-form videos, documentaries, interviews, testimonials, event highlights, reels, and project stories. Support longer-form documentary production when required. Conduct interviews and capture relevant audio-visual material during project activities and events. Edit video footage, including sound, transitions, captions, and other elements needed for digital publication. Develop visual storytelling products that communicate MMI’s work, project results, and organizational messages. Coordinate with external videographers, editors, designers, and other creative service providers when needed.
6. Project Communication & Visibility Support
Work with project managers and teams to develop and implement communication and visibility activities. Attend selected project activities to document events and produce communication materials. Support the preparation of success stories, case studies, participant stories, testimonials, and other visibility products. Ensure donor visibility and communication requirements are reflected in project communication materials. Prepare communication materials for events, campaigns, conferences, workshops, and public engagements. Provide communication inputs for reports, presentations, publications, and other organizational documents. Support dissemination of project results, achievements, and learning.
7. Project Implementation & Coordination Support
The Associate will also provide project implementation support in areas related to communication, coordination, documentation, and visibility.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting project events and activities. Assisting with participant, partner, and stakeholder communication. Preparing project-related communication materials and correspondence. Collecting and organizing information and data for project documentation and reporting. Participating in project meetings and providing updates on communication and visibility activities. Supporting project teams with logistical and coordination tasks. Performing other reasonable project-related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Specific targets and deliverables may be established for individual projects or reporting periods.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication, Digital Media, Marketing/Communications, Public Relations, Multimedia, Information Technology , or a related field. Demonstrated experience in digital publishing, content creation, journalism, social media management, or a related area. Experience managing websites and social media platforms and creating digital content. Practical experience producing written, photographic, and multimedia content. Experience in photography and videography, including filming, interviewing, editing, and producing digital video content. Practical experience in video production and visual storytelling.
