Job Description
The Junior Accountant provides administrative, clerical, and bookkeeping support to the Senior Financial Accountant at the Ethiopia branch office. The role supports the smooth operation of finance activities through timely transaction processing, accurate record-keeping, payment support, and compliance assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Transaction Support
Support Accounts Payable (A/P) by organizing invoices, payment requests, and maintaining vendor records.
Assist with Accounts Receivable (A/R), customer invoicing, withholding tax follow-up, and receipt recording.
Prepare payment documentation for staff claims, petty cash, and third-party payments.
Communicate with banks to facilitate payments and collect proof of payment.
Enter financial transactions accurately into SAP/S4 Hana and maintain records.
Administrative & Compliance Support
Maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems for financial records.
Support bank reconciliation preparation by gathering statements and documentation.
Assist with tax documentation, VAT and withholding summaries, and statutory filing support.
Coordinate documentation for internal and external audits.
Handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Candidates pursuing professional accounting certifications (ACCA, CPA, etc.) are encouraged to apply.
1–2 years of experience in an entry-level accounting, clerical, or finance role preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (basic formulas, sorting, formatting).
Familiarity with accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems (SAP/S4 Hana is an advantage).
Strong integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
