Position Summary
The Senior Project Associate (Capacity Building) will support the implementation of training and capacity building initiatives under the Policy and Liaison sub‑unit. The role also contributes to specialized protection interventions, including legal aid, legal identity, and National Referral Mechanism (NRM) tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities related to capacity building Conduct needs assessments and develop training programmes Organize and deliver workshops on migrant protection, governance, and reintegration Maintain beneficiary records and evaluate training impact Liaise with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors Document good practices and lessons learned; contribute to SOPs and policies Draft reports, correspondence, and briefing notes Monitor implementing partners and report non‑compliance
Qualifications & Experience
Education: School diploma with 6 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Political/Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields with 4 years of relevant experience Experience: Liaising with government, UN agencies, NGOs, and institutions Working with migrants, refugees, IDPs, victims of trafficking, and vulnerable groups Conducting capacity needs assessments at national, district, and community levels Prior experience with humanitarian or government institutions in multicultural settings Skills: Strong communication, planning, and analytical skills Capacity building and training material development Event coordination and logistics management Report writing and impact evaluation Languages: Fluent in English and Amharic (mandatory)
